Reiki for animals can support many things on many levels. At its heart, it creates a space where an animal can come into a place of calm, allowing their own natural healing ability to awaken and begin to work in the way it needs to. It is not about doing something to the animal, but about offering a quiet, supportive presence where balance can gently be restored.

Reiki can be particularly helpful for animals who have experienced emotional trauma, such as those who have been rescued or rehomed. It can also support physical ailments, recovery from illness or injury, low mood, anxiety and stress-related conditions. In addition, I have been honoured to support many animals at the end of their lives, helping them to pass peacefully and with dignity, either in person or through distant Reiki.

I have had a lifelong passion for animals, and from a young age I always felt a deep desire to help them, even though I didn’t yet understand how that would take shape. Over time, Reiki has become a natural and meaningful way for me to offer that support.

I have worked with a wide variety of animals, including dogs, cats, horses, chickens, even a bat, along with other domesticated and wild animals. Each one is unique, and each session is guided by the individual animal’s needs, responses and willingness to engage.

Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive treatment that most animals are very open to receiving. Treatments are usually hands-on, but can just as easily be offered hands-off or at a distance. In fact, many animals respond particularly well to distant healing, as they are able to remain in their own familiar environment where they feel safe and relaxed.

Sessions are always carried out in a space where the animal feels most comfortable. This may be their home, their stable, or wherever they naturally settle. A treatment can last anywhere from around 10 minutes to an hour, with the animal always guiding the process. They will clearly show when they have had enough, and this is always respected.

All animals can receive Reiki. It can support a wide range of issues including pain, side effects of conventional treatments either drug or surgery related, stress, anxiety and stress-related dis-ease. It is a complementary therapy that works alongside veterinary care, supporting the animal as a whole being—physically, emotionally and energetically.

One of the most beautiful aspects of this work is how animals respond. Those who may be nervous or unwilling to be approached by strangers will often soften and settle into a Reiki session with ease. There is something deeply moving about witnessing that moment of trust, often marked by a deep sigh, a softening of the body, or a gentle shift into rest.

Reiki offers animals a space where they are not asked for anything, where they can simply be, and in that space, healing can begin in its own quiet, natural way.

I began treating animals when working as veterinary assistant, in fact is was a little cat called Button who set me on my Reiki journey. To find out more about Button click here.

I am able to work Internationally and am happy to say I have clients all over the world.  If you would like to find out more about Reiki Treatments for an animal please get in touch.
