As I meander my way through social media I see posts, with increasing frequency, about how one person’s healing modality is ‘THE MOST POWERFUL’ or more ALCHEMICAL than others. The one that seems to get slated the most is Reiki. Just plain old Usui (the founder) Reiki, not Holy Fire Reiki or Fairy Reiki or Angel Reiki or Angelic Reiki or Celtic Reiki. I see people who preach that they align with the teachings of Jesus, as I do myself in an unconventional sense, however, they pour vitriol on anyone who does not follow their Way. The teachings of Jesus have love at their very core.
Reiki is just a word, it means ‘spiritual energy’ it is a frequency of energy generated from the divine spark that lies within us all. The interconnectedness to All That Is. Even when we have opened up to this it requires work to keep this spark alight.
Things that dim your light within are; overthinking, alcohol and drug use, poor health choices and there is another; the ego. It is my belief that as spiritual practitioners we must come from a place of peace, gratitude, truth, humility and compassion for ourselves and others. As opposed to an ego based ‘mine is better than yours’ perspective. According to the late Dr Wayne Dyer “Letting the ego-illusion become your identity can prevent you from knowing your true self.” Read the full blog here.
This is what I believe to be true based on my lifetime of spiritual exploration. It matters not what name or label you give something or indeed whether you have pieces of paper to prove you have done a course. What matters is how you walk your path and the intention with which you go about your healing practice. If, for example, your main driver is recognition, to be the best known so that you can make as much money as possible then there is a strong likelihood that your work will not be heart centred, but ego centred and therefore that inner light may not shine out as brightly as it might. This does not mean I am anti success, but it must come from the right place, the heart.
What makes a good healing experience is the high frequency of pure love, this allows the person to remove themselves from their dramas and troubles and enter a place of total stillness where they can begin to re-balance and once again become whole (or healed).
A good healer is a good healer and they are usually such because they come from a place of integrity, love and commitment to helping others. My own first experience of healing another being was before I discovered the Reiki pathway and it is still one of the most profound experiences of my life, much gratitude to the little black cat called Button who was my teacher. The label is irrelevant, we may use different language to describe what we do and that is just fine, there are many roads that all lead to the same destination.
So let’s quit with the discrediting of other healing modalities that may have a different name and let’s raise each other up, support each other to make a difference in the world. Different delivery systems will appeal to different people. There is enough room for everyone. Let us remember that the important thing is to come from a place of LOVE, INTEGRITY AND COMMITMENT TO HELPING OTHER BEINGS.
EGO = Edge God Out
